House number and street name cut right through the CorTen steel by laser. The letters are real openings: you see the wall through them, the light passes through, and at dusk the plaque looks like a different object.

• Square plate in 2 mm CorTen steel (weathering steel)
• House number laser cut at the top — large, easy to read

• 4 standoffs at the corners — included, floating effect with a shadow on the wall
• Natural oxidation: warm tones from honey brown to deep rust

CONTRAST PANEL — OPTIONAL

A second panel mounted behind the plate, acting as a backdrop to improve legibility and add a design touch.

On smooth light plaster the cut-out reads well enough on its own, as long as the plaque and the lettering are not too small. The panel earns its place above all on exposed stone or heavily textured walls, when the plaque has to be read from a distance, or simply when you want a little more style.

ABOUT THE MATERIAL — CORTEN STEEL

CorTen is a special steel that develops a surface oxide layer. The patina shifts from the initial grey-orange to a warm brown over a few weeks, depending on exposure to moisture.

Pieces made in CorTen steel go on changing in appearance over time. The rust finish can vary in tone, intensity and evenness according to weather exposure and surroundings.

During the first phase of oxidation, and until the protective patina has fully settled, the material may release rust residue or leave marks on surfaces it touches (paving, walls, fabrics and so on). Avoid direct contact with delicate or absorbent surfaces during this period.

Every piece is unique in how it looks and in how its patina develops.

PRODUCTION TIMES

Each piece is made to order within 1-2 working days. If you would like to receive it already oxidised, allow 1 to 2 weeks for the rust to form.
